Our Junior High School: Grades 7-9
Junior High at AMA is a blast! These are the years in which you lay the foundation for high-level studies, opening the way for university and the career of your dreams afterwards. You'll work with your hands, work out your "mind-muscle," and stretch your creativity to the limit.
Start exploring the planet in Life Science and Earth Science classes-both in the classroom and out in the world doing hands-on projects. Then, get ready to understand the forces of the universe when you get to Physical Science. In math, we'll build the thinking leading up to and including algebra. If you think math is just a lot of numbers, think again! You'll learn how it applies to real-life problems and how it's a language all of its own.
Speaking of languages, you can study Spanish right at your grade level, or start learning the language if you don't already speak it. The same is true of German. And, if your English needs a little help, we have special ESL classes to get you up to speed. With your three languages, you can really fool the other teams when you're out playing basketball, soccer, or U.S. football!
Want to star in a play? AMA's yearly school play is open to Junior High-Schoolers too! Hey, by Junior High, you're not a little kid any more. You're a young adult who's developing an identity and starting to build a life of your own. That's why we learn not just from books, but from doing things and making things, too. Life is more than just a classroom...life is your classroom!
Your parents will want to know that AMA's Junior High offers accelerated honors programs, special enrichment, health and social responsibility training, and professional adult guidance through the adolescent years. They'll want to know that AMA offers a college preparatory curriculum of the highest quality. For you, the student, just remember that learning at AMA is a blast!
