Los Acervos de CIRMA
- Desde un principio, CIRMA se instituyó con la Biblioteca Centroamericana de Ciencias Sociales, que en la actualidad es una de las más grandes en su género en Centroamérica, con contenidos bibliográficos de enorme riqueza, tanto en términos cualitativos como cuantitativos. La biblioteca cuenta con aproximadamente 70,000 libros del siglo XVII al presente.
- La Fototeca Guatemala, que fue creada en 1980, representa el esfuerzo más importante para rescatar la memoria visual de Guatemala. Retrata los diferentes grupos étnicos, sociales y políticos desde 1850 hasta el presente y provee un rico registro de la evolución histórica del país. Es la colección visual más importante de Guatemala y de Centroamérica que refleja las tradiciones culturales, la vida cotidiana, el arte, la arquitectura, los hechos políticos y los desastres naturales. Actualmente cuenta con más de un millón de imágenes.
- En 1997 CIRMA fundó su Archivo Histórico, único en el ámbito centroamericano. Tiene colecciones que van del siglo XIX a la fecha, haciendo énfasis en la época contemporánea. Su labor es rescatar, organizar, preservar y difundir documentos provenientes de instituciones no gubernamentales y particulares. Actualmente, el Archivo Histórico alberga 42 colecciones integradas por unos siete millones de documentos. Anualmente ingresan un promedio de 5,000 documentos nuevos. Juega un papel crítico en la recuperación de la memoria histórica del país.

CIRMA's Research Resources
- CIRMA's inaugural project was the creation of the Central American Social Science Library, which today is both quantitatively and qualitatively one of the largest of its kind in Central America. The library houses approximately 70,000 volumes, dating from the seventeenth century to the present day.
- The Guatemala Fototeca (Historical Photograph Collection), created in 1980, represents the most important effort to rescue the visual historical memory of Guatemala. It traces different ethnic, social and political groups from 1850 to the present day and provides a rich visual record of the country's historical evolution. It is the most important collection in Guatemala and Central America alike, and its contents reflect cultural traditions, daily life, art, architecture, politics and even natural disasters. The Fototeca currently houses over a million images.
- In 1997, CIRMA founded its Historical Archive, unique in all of Central America. Its collections range from the eighteenth century to the present day, with special emphasis on the contemporary period. The archive's mission is to rescue, organize, preserve and promulgate documents from non-governmental institutions and individuals alike. Currently, the Historical Archive houses 42 collections totaling some seven million documents. Each year, an average of 5,000 new documents are added. The Archive plays a key role in recuperating the historical memory of the nation.
